The wait is now over! This is J.R. Ward's 9th book of the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series, and as an avid fan myself, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I thought it was not the best of her work but definitely enjoyable.
Payne and Manny, I was expecting more but it was more like a sweet appetizer. I saw them more as sweethearts, at times it would get a little cheesy. The relationship between Payne and Manny left me wanting more of them because they were overshadowed by the star couple in this book....who am I referring to?? None other than Jane and Vishous!!! and Butch too...
Oh My Gosh!...If this were Lover Unbound part II, I would give it 10/10 plus. You finally get to see these two character without any masks and boundaries. Their relationship gets so raw that for those of you that felt cheated for Vishous's HEA, now we understand the hows and whys of Jane being his everything. Of course Butch plays an important part, which we see how much those males also need each other.
Now the other couple I was hoping to get more info on was Blay/Qhuinn. Well it looks like we will have to stay tuned because the small tidbits that Ward provides us with, leaves them in the same situation or maybe worse off them when you begin the book.
Lastly, we at last introduced to a whole new cast of brothers that will definitely become the next novels that Ward will continue with, once all the originals have had their HEA. For me, I have so far only warmed up to one of them because we get the feel of who his character is. No, it is not Xcor I haven't warmed up to him just yet but Throe. I want to know more about their back story, which makes their introduction to the series a smooth transition.
Overall, I would I would definitely recom'd this book to all of Ward's fans and readers!! If not for Payne and Manny, then you can't miss it beause of Jane and Vishous!!
7+/10
